INTRODUCTION

This Privacy Notice describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from YouCopia Products, Inc. (collectively “YouCopia”, “we”, “our” or “us”) from our web site located at www.youcopia.com  (the “Site”). We do not knowingly attempt to solicit or receive information from children.

We understand that you are aware of and care about your own personal privacy interests, and we take that seriously. We recognize that information privacy is an ongoing responsibility, and so we will from time to time update this Privacy Notice as we undertake new personal data practices or adopt new privacy policies.

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you visit our Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse our Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to our Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

    - “Log files” track actions occurring on our Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages and date/time stamps.

    - “Web beacons,” “tags” and “pixels” such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and YotPo Tracking Pixels which are electronic files used to record information about how you browse our Site.

    - Tracking Codes” such as MailChimp Open tracking which tells us if you open the emails we send you and MailChimp Click tracking which allows us see if you have clicked links in in our content.

Additionally, when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information, account email address and password, cart information (including credit card numbers via Shopify platform) and phone number. We refer to this information as “Order Information.”

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Notice, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.

 

 

HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through our Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:

Communicate with you;

Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and

When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services, and newsletters.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. You can also opt-out of Google Analytics here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout . We also use ZenDesk to assist us in providing better customer support.

Information about our customers, including Personal Information, may be disclosed as part of any bankruptcy, merger, sale, transfer of company assets, acquisition or similar transaction. In the event of such a transaction in which your Personal Information would be transferred to a third party, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you. For example, we will post a notice of the transfer of Personal Information on our Sites and, if we have your email address, we will send notice of the transfer of Personal Information to that email address.

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

BEHAVIORAL ADVERTISING

As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. Please note that we do not alter our Site’s data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.

ACCESS TO PERSONAL INFORMATION

You may have access to your Personal Information we hold about you and you may ask that your Personal Information be corrected, updated or deleted. If you would like access to your Personal Information for these purposes, please contact us through the contact information below or log into your Shopify account.

SECURITY

We take reasonable measures, including the implementation and maintenance of physical, electronic,and managerial procedures, in an effort to assure the security, integrity and accuracy of all Personal Information we collect. Our efforts include procedures designed to avoid unauthorized access, alteration, loss, misuse, disclosure or destruction of Personal Information, taking into account the risks involved in the processing and the nature of the Personal Information.

If we learn of a security systems breach, we may attempt to notify you electronically so that you can take appropriate protective steps. By using the Site covered by this Notice and providing Personal Information to us, you agree that we can communicate with you electronically regarding security, privacy and administrative issues relating to your account information and usage.

Data Integrity and Purpose Limitation

We collect and use Personal Information in accordance with this Notice and only for the limited relevant purposes stated in this Notice and/or at the time we request such Personal Information from our users, or for such purposes to which a user may otherwise consent. We do not use or share your Personal Information in a way that is incompatible with the purposes for which such Personal Information was requested and authorized for use by us. We retain Personal Information for no longer than is commercially useful to carry out our business purposes, or as we believe may be legally required. We take reasonable steps to ensure that the Personal Information is reliable for its intended use, accurate, complete and current. When Personal Information is deleted or updated by you, it may take up to 30 days from accessible systems, and up to 90 days from backup systems, for us to delete such Personal Information.

MINORS

The Site is not intended for individuals under the age of 13.

California Privacy Rights

In addition to the rights set forth in this Privacy Notice, California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents who are individual consumers or users of our Site to request certain information regarding its disclosure of Personal Information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. CHANGES

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
